Fox News falsely suggested the book was publicly revealed only after it was announced Gwen Ifill would moderate the October 2 vice presidential debate. In fact, media outlets, including the Associated Press, reported that Ifill was the book's author well before the August 21 announcement that she would moderate the debate.
