Awful news for the Giants, as the team had already lost Michael Strahan to retirement. Now Osi Umenyiora suffered serious ligament damage in his left knee Saturday and will miss the entire 2008 season.

De kans op een ijsvrije Noordpool dit jaar wordt steeds kleiner. De ijssmelt gaat deze zomer langzamer dan vorig jaar maar verloopt wel sneller dan in 2006. De ijsbedekking blijft zodoende een neergaande trend vertonen. Dat meldt het KNMI op haar website.
